-The greatest water-colour painter in Spain is called "MENA". There is nobody else that could understand the mediterranean misteries. He is born in 1946.

His nursery at Algeciras it affects his seapieces inspirations. You have the opportunity of getting some masterpieces from the painter. Now at this moment we can watch several first period pictures. And later we will add new artistic vision in MENA.

More than hundred paint expositions in Spain show us the importance of this work that uses a perfect water-colour technics. But the most important is the searching of landscape soul;the paint stroke is something else than a touch of colour: It is the own artist.

Cause is that MENA's pictures are telling us one truth: Where ever you were (Algeciras,Galicia,North of Africa...) you are always inside MENA

Those trees without any leaf or with a deep green,those inmaterial boats and stormy or serene sky... They,re living inside a memory corner; melancholy and refusal to any other aspect about modern urban elements: Because the actual strangeness of primary and genuine human and landscape worths are a worry to MENA, romanticism is at nature and spiritual buildings;there would be the hot, the sadness or hope.Nothing about artificial things.

-El más grande acuarelista español se llama "MENA". Nadie como él ha penetrado en los misterios del paisaje mediterraneo.Nace en 1946.

Su crianza en Algeciras marca su inclinación por el paisaje marino.Tienen la oportunidad de adquirir algunas obras maestras del pintor. De momento pueden ver aquí muestras de su primera juventud artística.Más tarde agregaremos sus nuevas obras.

Más de cien exposiciones en España dan testimonio de la importancia de su obra, cuya técnica acuarelística es simplemente perfecta.Pero lo más importante es la búsqueda del alma del paisaje;la pincelada se convierte en algo más que un toque de color: es el propio artista.

La razón es que las obras de MENA nos cuentan una verdad: Estés donde estés (Algeciras, Galicia,el Norte de Africa...) siempre estás dentro de MENA.

Esos árboles desnudos de hojas o verde profundo, aquellas inmateriales barcas y el cielo borrascoso o sereno... viven dentro de un rincón de la memoria; melancolía y rechazo hacia todo aspecto de modernidad urbana: porque el actual alejamiento de los genuinos y primarios valores humanos y paisajísticos son una preocupación para MENA, el romanticismo está en la naturaleza y en edificios espirituales; allí reside la tristeza, el calor y la esperanza, nunca en lo artificial.

If you watch these pictures you will find something strange. Mena's personality is not habitual. He's stopping the time.He's waiting something. Loneliness. But there is one element in the past (the chilhood may be) which has the key to the new future. What's the ship the "Gaelic Widow" expecting for? What's the real fishing at "Friendship Victory"?. Why the fisher is the "Sea Young Preacher"?.

Perhaps King Arthur would discover part of mistery in faraway Avalon... ("Arthur's Boat"). Water colour is now a religious passage. There is a "Rainy Spirit" at human soul (past sins) but the redemption will carry us to the other side ("Gate Beyond the Other Side").

Dead people want to point us the way ("Ghost Fishers") and "Celtic Stones" are a lost knowledge.It's Yule. We are in Algeciras. ("Yule at Algeciras"). It's raining again. But the gift is the next: when we cross the white fog towards Plaza Alta the rain stops. Our faces are wet although a marvellous sun is shinning.
